马洋村是梅溪镇下辖的行政村。村名有两种说法：一说，元代在石郑村兴建香林寺时，同期修了一条通往宋代白云寺的马路，马路经过的村庄恰有一小片平洋，因而得名「马洋」；另一说，早年此地草料茂密，白云寺的和尚常把马赶来放牧。[1]

2023年12月，马洋村被命名为「2023年度福建省森林村庄」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
马洋石梁桥位于村庄山间东南面的坑沟里，桥面宽0.50米，长5.9米，石梁上刻有「嘉定十三年」字样。[2]
