吉壁村位于罗源湾出口岸，依山傍水，东南面与连江县相接，全村总面积8.5平方千米，辖3个自然村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
1984年，村子改为村委会，前身为1958年设立的吉壁大队。1952年曾分出设立吉壁乡，此前明清时村址属贤一里，民国时期归鉴匹一带管辖[2][3]。
地理环境[edit]
村名的来历是：村北有小金山，山崖陡峭如壁，取“吉利”之意，称为吉壁[2]。村前是平坦的沙滩，村后有白岩山、文笔山、尖峰山，山顶可远望周边数县海域的岛屿[1]。村中有一条通村隧道公路，长约300米，据博雅地名网所载，是福建省首条通村隧道公路[1]。
