川边村是福州市罗源县霍口畲族乡下辖的行政村，位于乡境西南部。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子靠近山垄的边缘，「村」字方言读音近似「川」，俗称川边垄，故名。[1][3]

另据百度百科，村子处于三条小溪之边，因而得名。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时隶林洋里；民国时期归第四区、第三区，并入福丰乡。1950年属西峰乡；1958年成为霍口公社西峰大队的一部分。1961年分出川边大队，隶西峰公社；1965年取消区建制，仍归霍口公社。“文革”时称大队革委会，1983年起恢复大队管委会，1984年才改为村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2021年12月，被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」；2020年6月，被确定为「罗源县第四轮第一批（2019年）平安村（社区）」。[1]
