地名由来[edit]
村前溪流中有一块石头，形状像船，村子因此得名。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时隶重下里；民国时期归第四区与第三区，并入福丰乡。1950年时属王廷洋乡，1958年并入霍口公社的王廷洋大队。1961年另立船头大队，归王廷洋公社；1965年取消区建制，仍属霍口公社。“文革”时期改为大队革委会，1983年起恢复大队管委会，1984年才换成村委会。[2]
人物[edit]
周太淼（1907－1938）为本村人。1936年参加闽东红军独立师，后随新四军三支队六团北上抗日；1938年，他在苏南反「清乡」的作战中牺牲。[4]
