霍口畲族乡是福州市罗源县下辖的民族乡，位于县境西南部，东与飞竹镇相接，西邻闽侯县，南接连江县，北靠古田县。乡政府所在地为霍口村，全乡辖24个行政村。福州市内的民族乡只有两个，霍口为其一，畲族在此聚居。[1][2][7]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地属同乐乡；明清两代分别归入重下里与林洋里管辖。[5][6]

乡名的来历，据博雅地名网，霍口村建在急流溪的溪口，原称「豁口」，后演化为「霍口」，这条溪也叫霍口溪。[5][7]

民国时期，本地先后归第四区、第三区管辖，1938年与1946年属福丰乡；1943年曾分属福霍乡与西南乡，1944年又改称福峰乡。[6]

解放初期属第四区。1955年9月，第四区改称霍口区（博雅地名网记为1956年3月）。1958年5月撤区并乡，霍口列为一个乡；1961年复设霍口区，1965年撤区并社。1984年，人民公社改为乡镇建制，霍口改称霍口乡，随即设立霍口畲族乡。[3][6]

革命年代，霍口是一片红色根据地，开展过「破仓分粮」的斗争；霍口游击独立队以畲族人员为主，为解放罗源及周边地区出过力。[8]

地理环境[edit]

乡境山高林密，岱江穿境而过，其流域全长32公里，属福州第二水源的二级保护地。境内另有霍口溪。[1][8][11]

人口民族[edit]

据百度百科，截至2019年末，全乡户籍人口为20243人。[4]

乡内为畲族聚居区，日常说罗源话，它是闽东语福州话的分支。琅坑村、香岭村、黄鹤村等受古田话影响较明显。[2]

经济[edit]

过去乡民多以畜禽养殖与竹木加工为生。大型水库修成后，全乡被划为福州市第二水源保护区，畜禽养殖与竹木加工陆续退出，到2019年全乡没有一家工业企业。[8]

香菇是主导产业，食用菌产业发展较快。2023年12月，全乡获得福州市2023年市级农业产业强镇的认定。[5]

此外，油茶、紫竹、黄桃等「一村一品」特色农业也在发展。[8]

文化[edit]

畲族的三月三乌米饭、对歌、凤凰装等习俗至今仍在乡内延续。[9]

2024年1月，乡内获评「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」；2023年12月，又获评「2023年度福建省森林乡镇」；2021年2月，列入「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

畲山水景区在乡内，景区约13000亩，与罗源县城相距约38公里，是国家3A级旅游景区。景区内山林茂密，溪水清澈，有峡谷、瀑布与象形山石；据罗源县政府网站，景区内有福建省最大的百年红枫林。[9]

福湖畲族村（见福湖村）有8处清代古建筑群，以雷家大院、兰家大院为代表，村中另有畲族民俗馆与武工队旧址。[10]

著名人物[edit]

据罗源县名人录，霍口籍人士中，有多人于1934年后参加闽东红军，并编入新四军三支队六团北上抗日，1938年至1939年间在作战中牺牲或失踪，他们的村别见各村条目。[12]
