坑里村是西兰乡下辖的行政村，村名与一条溪流有关。[1]

地名由来[edit]

相传郭氏嫁女时，以山作为妆奁之地，以溪（坑）为界，村庄位于界内，因此得名坑里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明至清末此地归化一里；民国时期先后隶属第四区和第三区，并入凤寿乡。1950年，此处设坑里乡，归第五区。1952年改属第八区，1955年划入洋柄区。1958年并入飞竹公社，改称坑里大队。1961年起，此地归飞竹区的岭头公社管辖，1965年以后并入西兰公社。1984年改设村委会，隶属西兰乡。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年12月，村庄入选福州市2024年度「绿盈乡村」建设中级版村庄名单。2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予坑里村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
