村名取自主村石壁下，故称石别下。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，石别下村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。2021年8月，村庄入选罗源县第四轮第二批（2020年）「平安村（社区）」名单。[1]
