历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历，据博雅地名网和百度百科所载：村附近旧有一棵大树，本称“大木”，后人误写为“大目”。[1][3]
明至清末，本村属罗平里。1950年归五区，1952年属八区，1955年改隶洋柄区。1958年撤区改社，改乡为大队，隶飞竹公社。1961年分出另立大目大队，归起步区的一个公社；1965年撤区并社，改属洪洋公社。“文革”期间改名为大目大队革委会，1983年恢复管委会名称，1984年起改设村委会，仍属洪洋乡。[1]
经济[edit]
村中先后修缮了村部，修通了村级主干道，并改造了自来水，基础设施逐步完善。[2]
文化[edit]
福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月命名本村为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
