飞竹村是飞竹镇的集镇所在地，距城关约27公里。全村辖飞竹、飞竹洋、里飞竹3个自然村，是老区基点村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历，据博雅地名网所载：据传本村先前无人种竹，后来村民偶然见到竹子，误以为是从邻村飞过来的，因此得名飞竹。[1]

明清时期属重上里。民国初年，1931年至1937年间归第三区飞梧乡，1938年至解放前夕分属凤寿、寿竹乡。解放后先属第五区，后归洋柄区的飞竹乡。[1]

1958年改为飞竹大队，隶属飞竹公社。1961年改归飞竹区飞竹公社，1965年又回到飞竹公社。文革期间改称大队革委会，1983年仍称大队管委会，1984年更名为飞竹村委会，隶属飞竹镇。[1]

经济[edit]

村中种有乌龙茶，福建七境茶业有限公司设在本村，是镇里乌龙茶产业中的骨干企业之一。[2]

文化[edit]

2010年，本村被评为省级生态村。2021年8月入选罗源县第四轮第二批（2020年）「平安村（社区）」；2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1][2]
