外坂村在飞竹镇中西部，离城关37公里，沿142县道可到。全村辖外坂、果山、下洋3个自然村，属水源保护区域范围。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：村附近旧有瓦窑，人称瓦窑坂。后来姚姓族人改用玉字代替瓦字，称为玉窑坂。读音上“瓦窑”拗口，最终合读为“外”，于是成了外坂。[1]

明清时期此地属重下里。1931年至1937年属第四、第三区，抗战时期分属福丰、丰斌、丰深等乡。解放后先后归属八区、四区，再归洋柄区管辖。[1]

1958年划归飞竹公社；1961年分出另设外坂大队，归丰余公社管辖；1965年又回到飞竹公社。[1]

文革期间改称大队革委会，1983年仍称大队管委会，1984年改为村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

2010年，本村被评为省级生态村。2021年12月，本村被命名为「2021年度福建省森林村庄」。2020年6月，本村入选罗源县第四轮第一批（2019年）「平安村（社区）」。2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1][2]
