王沙村是福建省福州市罗源县中房镇下辖的行政村，位于罗源城北，离城关约15公里。村中畲汉两族聚居，是一个老区基点村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村内大部分土地含沙，沙色发黄，因此早先称“黄沙”或“金沙”。王、黄两字在方言中同音，后来误写作“王沙”。[1]
自然环境[edit]
村子四周群山环绕，水泥公路直通罗源县城。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村民先辗转迁往龙岩一带，后定居于此，至今已有五百余年。[2]
1950年村地归二区下湖乡管辖；1955年改属中房区。1958年撤区设社，村地成为中房公社下湖大队的一部分。1961年恢复区级建制，王沙从下湖大队析出，另成一个大队，划入中房区的下湖公社；1965年起重归中房公社。1984年大队改为村委会，隶属中房乡。[1]
自然景观与古迹[edit]
村中的景观有「清卧石床」「潭壁窥龙」「杨木连理」「进士石墓」，村内还留有「图惠堂」「报恩寺」「资福寺」的遗址，另有「炊云寺」「通天洞」「火菌峰」等自然景点。[2]
据称清代同治年间，村中出过一名进士，另有多名秀才，村中向来崇文重教。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，村入选2023年度福建省卫生村名单。[1]
