迹头村位于罗源湾西北部，村子所在地处于罗源湾开发区，依山面海，村后山伸入海滩[1]。

村名的来历：相传有位看风水的人到此察看地形，他的脚印最先落在这里；村后山伸入海滩，形似小腿，而「腿」与「脚」方言同义，村名因此定为迹头[1]。

自然村与荣誉[edit]

迹头村的主村之外，还有张厝里、下店、罗厝里、彭厝里等自然村，共五个[1]。2024年1月，村里被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2021年8月，又在罗源县第四轮第二批平安评选中（评选年度为2020年）获「平安村（社区）」称号[1]。
