竹里村位于罗源湾东南侧，是一个纯畲族行政村，村内连同竹里、横埭两个自然村，全村有一百多户[1]。

村名的来历：昔日村子附近多竹子，村因此得名[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2020年6月，竹里村在罗源县第四轮第一批平安评选中（评选年度为2019年）获「平安村（社区）」称号；同年12月，它入选「2019年度福建省“一村一品”示范村」，产业为蔬菜，又列入「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单[1]。

2021年11月，省级爱卫部门授予竹里村「2021年福建省卫生村」一项；2021年12月，它被确定为「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」；2022年10月，省农业农村厅认定竹里村为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」[1]。
