竹兜村是凤山镇的行政村，村后多长毛竹，村名由此而来。[1]

2000年12月，竹兜村由原村分出设立。[2]
1984年命名此村，此后沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
竹兜村于2021年11月获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，授予方为福建省爱卫办；2021年8月入列罗源县第四轮第二批（2020年）「平安村（社区）」名单。[1]
