余家塘村是凤山镇的行政村，位于县三中北侧、九大中心以东。村名的来历，据博雅地名网所载，是宋代太宰余琛最先在附近筑堤围海种荷，后来垦为田地。[1]

2000年12月，此地由原村分出，另行设立。[3]
1984年命名此村，此后沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
村民多从事出租、运输、商贸服务等行业，也有人外出做矿山、石材、房地产等生意。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2021年8月入列罗源县第四轮第二批（2020年）「平安村（社区）」名单。[1]
