历史沿革[edit]
唐宋时期，今乡域分属名闻乡的归仁、敦贤、安宅等里，元至清代改属仁贤、安定二里。[4]
民国初年属第五区。民国24年编查保甲时设蓼沿、朱公两个联保，隶属第二区署；民国29年改设蓼溪蒲、朱公两乡，民国33年6月两乡合并为朱蓼乡。[4]
新中国成立后，这里先归第五区管辖，区名后来改为丹阳区。1958年夏天撤区设乡，当年秋季即组成人民公社；1960年初公社并入丹阳公社，1961年6月从中析出，重新设为蓼沿公社，直到1984年6月公社撤销，改建为乡。[4]
地理环境[edit]
全乡总面积138平方千米，耕地约2.1万亩，林地14.06万亩，是连江县第二大乡镇。百度百科另作159.14平方千米，两者相差较大，此处以乡级政府和博雅地名网的数字为准。[1][4]
东侧以县道与丹阳镇相接，南面以虎头山脉为界与小沧乡隔山相望，西侧与潘渡镇相连，北面与罗源县的西南、飞竹、白塔三个乡镇毗邻。[4]
年平均气温18.5摄氏度，年平均降雨量约1550毫米，属亚热带海洋性季风气候。境内建有兰水、赤石、朱公等水电站，装机容量合计4620千瓦。[4]

连江县人民政府网2021年3月发布的乡镇简介称全乡8543户32827人，主要民族为汉族和畲族，汉族计30961人，少数民族计1866人。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]
溪东村的郑氏祖祠始建于南宋嘉定十三年（1220年），明清两代整修，为四合三进的全木结构古建筑，全祠占地2300平方米，房屋建筑1500平方米，是连江县文物保护单位。[7]
1938年11月，中共连江特别支部以福建省农村合作委员会委托培训合作社会计人员为名，把训练班设在溪东村的郑氏宗祠。首批学员一百五十多人，多是各乡村的抗日骨干，课程以宣传马列主义基础理论和抗日民族统一战线政策为主。[5]
溪东丞相墓为南宋郑昭先的墓，建于宋嘉定十四年（1221年），清咸丰年间重修，墓前有旗杆石、石翁仲、石马等遗物，2013年，省里将其列为第八批省级文物保护单位。墓址在博雅地名网上写作广化村，百度百科则注为广化村（溪东村凤凰山边）。[9][10]
蓼沿岩桂洞摩崖石刻位于白沙村岩桂洞，属连江县第十批县级文物，划定的保护范围是在其本体四周各外扩10米的区域。[8]
原福州市建设山区青年志愿队旧址是蒲边村的一座清代中期宗祠，为闽东地区典型的宗祠建筑。1962年6月，一批知识青年组成的青年志愿队到蒲边村插队落户，此处是他们生活和工作的地方，前后历时13年。2018年公布为连江县第六批县级文物保护单位。[6]
