新辉村属连江县下宫镇，村名又作新龟村。[4][1]村子与可门村、初芦村、江湾村、松皋村等村相邻。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村中有一座山峰形似乌龟，村民称之为龟山。先民在山脚建村，最初叫新龟村；后因“龟”与“辉”读音相近，改称新辉村。[3][4]

清代有人从琅岐迁来居住。1958年设新辉大队，隶属坑园公社；1984年改为新辉村委会，属坑园乡；1993年，它划入下宫乡。[2]

2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
