初芦村属连江县下宫镇，位于江湾村西侧，与江湾村、松皋村、厦一村等村相邻。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

早年村内有大片芦苇地，进城的村民要穿过芦苇区，因此称为出芦，后来演变为初芦。[3]

初芦村原属坑园公社可门大队。1970年，它从可门大队分出，设为初芦大队；1984年改为初芦村委会，属坑园乡；1993年，划入下宫乡。[2]

2024年11月，本村被认定为「2024年度福建省“一村一品”专业村」，主导产业为鲍鱼养殖。[1]
