历史沿革[edit]
唐至清代，今镇域属太平乡，分属光临里、清河里和安仁上中里。民国初年为第四区，此后1935年先设潘渡与贵安两个联保，继而在1940年分出潘渡乡、溪港乡两乡，1943年并为潘溪乡。新中国成立后又设第四区，1955年换称潘渡区。1958年7月取消区建制，分为潘渡、坡西、小沧三个乡，同年9月各乡组建人民公社；1960年初三社归并为潘渡公社，次年6月小沧公社分出。1984年改称潘渡乡；2020年6月28日改乡为镇，辖区不变。[1][4]
地理环境[edit]
镇域在连江县西北部，敖江干流自镇内流过，新店至东湖的公路也穿境而过。境内矿泉水、伊利石和叶蜡石等非金属矿产较多，森林覆盖率在八成以上。辖区面积各家所载不同：潘渡镇人民政府网站作156平方千米，百度百科作142.21平方千米，维基百科作158平方千米；本条目以政府网站为准。[1][5][6]

据百度百科，截至2019年末，镇户籍人口为20991人。[1] 维基百科所载是2017年户籍人口2.47万人。[5] 潘渡镇人民政府网站称全镇总人口约9.2万人，此数为总人口的约数，与户籍数不可并列。[6]
经济[edit]
镇内的贵安温泉旅游开发区是连江县四大开发区之一，核心区在贵安村。初步勘探的温泉分布面积约0.7平方千米。[3] 镇内逐步形成温泉体育休闲、农副产品加工与温泉生态观光相结合的产业格局。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
镇内有缺鼻峰、古道驿站旧迹和高山草甸等自然景观，存后自然村保留古民居。宋代，贵安村的汤岭是古福温驿道的主要通道，驿道旧迹至今尚存；宋代理学家朱熹曾到贵安讲学，村内保留「朱文公祠」遗址。[2][3]
文化[edit]
镇域的民俗文化包括滩涂泥撬制作工艺、仁山拉线狮和畲族苎布织染缝纫技艺。[2] 贵安拉面的制作技艺已传承三百余年，连江县第七批县级非遗名单（2022年5月公布）收录了它，村内拉面作坊有三家。[3]
荣誉[edit]
潘渡镇于2014年6月获得环境保护部颁授的「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]
2020年、2021年和2022年，潘渡镇先后被阿里研究院公布的「淘宝镇」名单收录。[2]
「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」这一称号在2024年1月落到潘渡镇。[2]
