地名与沿革[edit]
村名来自村中房屋横向排列的布局。清代以前村地属五贤乡保安里。1958年归入五贤生产大队，1984年先设居委会，次年改为村民委员会建制。[1][2]
人口与耕地[edit]
博雅地名网所载，全村人口4763人，村民小组18个，耕地1000余亩。村民以外出务工为主。[2]
宗祠与宫观[edit]
金沙陈氏宗祠占地2828平方米，为清代建筑，分前后两进。大厅牌匾众多，其中两面“博士”牌匾分别纪念族人陈哲人与陈为亨。[2]
延陵吴氏宗祠始建于清康熙十八年（1679年），1998年修葺，现占地860平方米。村中另有三清观、慈音寺、英显宫等宫观。[2]
当代人物[edit]
陈哲人为金沙陈教育基金会创始人，旅美物理学家，曾获阿波罗登月奖。[2]
陈为亨为美国纽英伦光学院博士，眼科专家。[2]
