塘里村是透堡镇下辖的行政村，位于镇址东南部，距镇址约半公里。村名本作「东里」，因「东」与「塘」读音相近，习称塘里。[1]

村东侧有灵佑尊王宫，博雅地名网称它是全镇最大的宫庙，是透堡的文化娱乐中心。南宋郑鉴即为此村人。[1][2]

地理与历史[edit]

古时罗源湾曾伸入此地，可供通航，村庄一度成为港口和货物集散地，后因泥沙淤积逐渐成陆。村南有岭兜自然村，与本村合为一村。[1]

历史上村中培育菜苗，每年供应连江、罗源等地的乡村。1990年后，村民因地制宜发展高优农产品，并外出到各大城市从事建筑与经商。[1]

村落的建立可追溯到宋代。1958年前后属马鼻公社，为塘里大队；1984年，马鼻乡设塘里村民委员会。1990年，本村与马鼻其余7个村分出，组成透堡乡；1992年改为透堡镇。[1]

据博雅地名网，2008年全村31个姓，郑姓与杨姓合计509人，占36%，其余陈、林、廖等姓占64%。[1]
