东升村位于闽江入海口北侧，村民历来以渔业为生，后多外出务工经商。全村分为6个村民小组。[1][4]

地名[edit]

村名取旭日东升之意，与村民从家船发展到集体渔业有关。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年以前，琯头已有140艘渔船的渔家，靠捕捞小鱼小虾维生。1953年，连家船结成互助组；1956年1月办起渔业生产合作社。1959年2月设东升大队，1984年10月改设村委会。[3]

人物[edit]

1956年，江福官被选为东升村支部书记，此后约三十年担任村主要领导。1956年至1985年间，他先后任公社党委副书记、县革命委员会副主任，并当选多届县人大代表。[1]

教育[edit]

东升小学建于20世纪60年代，1995年重建。[1]
