新中国成立初期设壶江乡，50年代又设壶江大队，1984年设村民委员会，名为壶江村。[2]

地理[edit]

岛上滩涂面积大于山地，水源充沛，宜于养殖。[1]

行政管理用地位于村南部，设有村委会和派出所。[1]
