村北遍植竹林，南面有蓉浦流入闽江，村名因此得名。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年，竹岐成为琯头公社的一个大队。1984年，该处改为村委会，隶属琯头镇。[2]
1990年2月，爱国华人郑时香、郑时块兄弟捐资建成村委会办公用房，供村民办公。[2]
