洋里村位于闽侯县西北部的山区，西面与闽清县交界，东距福古公路约十六公里。村名取自本地山区的平洋地形。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村名的意思是当地山区中有一片平地。村子又称「东宅」：一条溪水自东向西流经村中，人们把溪的东端叫作东头、西端叫作西尾，祖厝建在东头，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
公社化时期，这里设为洋里大队的驻地；1984年后改为洋里村民委员会。[1]
