厚庭村旧称下陈村，位于上街镇南方约7公里处，辖4个自然村。[2]
地名由来[edit]
旧时村落离镇中心较远，但田地宽广、土壤肥沃，先人盼望子孙殷实富足、福泽绵长，因而取名厚庭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地宋代属侯官县。陈姓先人在明代洪武年间（公元1368-1398）从新宁（今长乐玉溪）迁来定居。1984年，村民委员会设立。[1]

村民以陈姓为主，属鹤上玉溪陈姓的一支。[2]
