地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网称，村原名洪桥，约建于北宋时期，因地处福州西部门户、扼守永泰县通往侯官的古道要冲，又临溪源江，成为往来货物的集散地。北宋时林居广在村东修建十四门桥，建成后乡人在桥头植榕，村名遂改为榕桥。[1]
百度百科则称该村古名惠化里。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
村民委员会设立于1984年，名称一直沿用到现在。[1]
因大学城建设，村内耕地大多被征去，其上建起了闽江大学与福州职业技术学院，村中青壮年多外出务工。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
十四门桥横跨溪源江，据百度百科，始建于宋元丰年间，元丰八年（1085年）11月建成，桥面宽1.74米，桥长85.5米。博雅地名网则称，始建于宋元丰二年（1079年），历来几经修缮，是闽侯现存最长的宋桥。[3][4]
超山寺是佛教寺庙，据百度百科，始建于南宋绍兴十三年（1143年）。[5]
