新峰社区位于闽侯县上街镇境内，前身为村民委员会，后改为居委会。[1]

地名由来[edit]

旧时的中心村辖有新宅、上峰、呇山、梧杨等几处片村，社区名称取其中新宅与上峰两处的各一字组合而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新峰村村民委员会设立于1984年，此后于2006年经闽侯县人民政府批准撤销村委会，成立新峰社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]
