南通社区是南通镇的一个社区，也是镇政府驻地所在，位于通往十八重溪景区的交通要道旁。社区辖有三个自然村，境内有苏坂一带的榕荫桥、陈璧故居等文物古迹。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是1984年设立的南通村村民委员会。2006年，依据闽侯县人民政府[2006]132号文件的批复，撤销村委会，设立南通社区居民委员会。[1][3]

社区名称来自地名。据博雅地名网，村落处在镇域腹地，旧时陆路不畅、车辆难行，故取其谐音命名。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区内的苏坂北社是一座庙宇，始建于元代，庙戏台的藻井与梁枋雕刻精美，大厅内的石柱上刻有陈璧的楹联。[2]

榕荫桥位于苏坂，桥两侧植有古榕，1989年列为县级文物保护单位（详见南通镇条）。陈璧故居始建于清康熙年间，是福州地区较有代表性的名人故居。[2][4]

苏州桥横跨黄际港，连接本社区与洲头村，1929年建成，是萨镇冰当年募资修建的桥梁之一。[2]
