船尾村位于青口镇西南方，距镇政府约5公里，在福厦324国道西侧约1公里处，义辅公路穿村而过，通往祥谦镇。[1]

村名的来历与古时大义坊的渡口有关。大义渡是通往闽南与省城的要道，渡口尾段停泊船只的地方，乡民便称之为船尾。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村原为大义大队下属的一支联队，村民委员会于1984年组建。[1]
