长楼村位于青口镇西南部义溪路东南方，观音桥畔，北靠石鼓山，距镇政府约4公里。[1]

村名来自早年大义村的一条楼棚街。街上棚屋密集，多为楼板房，当地人取“长”“楼”二字组成村名，寓意天长地久、吉祥。[1]

长楼村原属大义大队的红峰联队，1984年设立长楼村村民委员会。[1]
