地名与沿革[edit]
村中有温泉，旧时建有寺庙和汤池，村子又位于福州进京的官道上，因此以「汤院」为名。[1]
村子的历史可上溯到唐朝咸通五年（公元864年）。它以前隶属大埕大队，直到1984年才设立村民委员会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村子距福州市区约45公里，距闽侯县城约25公里，距闽清县城约10公里。京福铁路与116县道穿村而过。[1]
文化与名胜古迹[edit]
汤院温泉的开发始于唐代，出水地层为火山岩。村内留有老泉头，并有家庭式温泉馆。[2]
村内有省级保护文物摩崖石刻，周边的宋代摩崖题刻出自程师孟、吕惠卿等人之手。[1][3]
汤院驿道是唐宋时期的驿铺遗址。据百度百科，它在2013年被定为福建省第八批省级文物保护单位，周边保存两口北宋温泉汤池。[3]
村内还有清代的大王庙、明代的郑性之墓，以及元代的圆明院记碑。[2]

荣誉[edit]
汤院村获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，授予方为福建省爱卫办，时间是2021年11月。[1]
