厚东村是潭头镇下辖的行政村，据博雅地名网为潭头镇的第一大村。村子东距长乐国际机场约10千米，西接琅岐岛大桥，南邻沙堤村和岭南村，北连闽江口，有约3千米长的海岸线。[1][2]

201省道穿村而过，村中辖有10个自然村。[2]

地名与沿革[edit]

村子原与克凤、曹朱同属厚福乡。分队后以原名的首字“厚”为村名，另取“东”字作雅称，称厚东。[4]

村子先为东光大队（1968年），1972年起为厚东生产大队，1986年起称厚东村委会，沿用至今。[3]

姓氏[edit]

村民以林姓为主，据称为忠义林公慎思的后裔，明代迁自沙堤。[2]

村落与文物[edit]

村中10个自然村，依次为四十塘、三十塘、园尾、松柏园、庄上、存龙、寺下、仑头顶、祖厅边和祠西。[2]

村中的文物有崇圣寺。各自然村建有老人活动中心，并建有老年人公寓。[2]
