边兰村是潭头镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的西南部，距镇中心约2.5千米，北望二刘村、石马村，南向岱西村、岱灵村，西倚大寨山，东临严湖。村辖边兰、曹垱、湖头3个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村民靠山边、靠南白而居，“南”与“兰”谐音，村名由此而来。[1]

姓氏与宗族[edit]

村民以姜姓为主。据博雅地名网，唐德宗时任宰相的始祖公辅（又名姜克佑）后被贬为泉州别驾，全家迁往南安，其一支后裔再迁边兰，至今千余年。[1]

2021年11月，边兰村被福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
