溪新村是潭头镇下辖的行政村，位于镇西，三面有山地环抱，东与大宏相对，西靠鼎贤山东麓，南与二刘村接壤，北与文溪村毗邻。村辖溪上、坑湖里、新宅游、新宅刘4个自然村。[1]

地名与沿革[edit]

溪上和新宅都是古老的村落。两村各取一字，合为行政村名“溪新”。溪上因周边绕溪得名，新宅刘、新宅游两个自然村则合称新宅。村子古属方安里。[1][2]

原为文溪村大队管辖，1965年独立为溪新行政村，同年设溪新村委会，沿用至今。[1]

地理与名胜[edit]

鼎贤山上多奇岩，山石形态各异，有太子帽、乒乓石、轮船石、笔架岩、莲花石等名称。[2]

鼎贤山中的德成岩为胜景，唐咸通年间（860—873年），林慎思与兄弟五人在此筑“月楼精舍”读书。南宋理学家朱熹到访后，夸赞林慎思“德成于此”，并题写了“德成岩”三字。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，溪新村被福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
