湖南镇位于福建省福州市长乐区的东北一带，东面濒临台湾海峡，南边与漳港街道相邻，西侧连接金峰镇，北侧靠着文岭镇。[1]

镇域紧邻福州长乐国际机场，海岸线长约四公里，沿海有金沙滩与银沙滩。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

镇域原先分属昌化乡崇仁里十七都与芳桂乡新开里二十三都，之后归东湖联保处管辖。1949年9月改隶长乐县第三区；1955年8月，划入金峰区。1958年8月，成立人民公社，归金峰公社统辖。[2]

1961年6月分出一个湖南公社。1989年9月公社撤销，改设为乡；1991年再改为镇，镇址设于仙宅村。[2] 百度百科所载为1984年改乡、1992年改镇。[1]

1992年，国务院批准在境内兴建福州长乐国际机场，机场用地内的村落陆续搬迁，部分居民迁入新村，组建了湖南社区。[4]

2008年8月，镇政府迁至鹏谢村驻地，并沿用至今。[2]

地名由来[edit]

镇域西北部与文岭镇交界处有东湖，「湖南」之称由此而来。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇北部有象鼻山、猪脚山，沿海一带有沙滩、岩礁和森林。[3]

经济[edit]

2019年，镇内工业企业共152家，规模以上的有35家。[1]

镇域与长乐国际机场相接，机场专用的货运公路穿过东西两部。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

位于大鹤村一带的海滨森林公园，总面积为369公顷，其范围同时涉及本镇与文岭镇。[5]

荣誉[edit]

环境保护部在2014年6月把「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号颁予本镇。[2]

福建省爱卫办于2020年12月，把本镇认定为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]

「2020年淘宝镇」名单于2020年9月由阿里研究院发布，镇列名其中。[2]

「2021年淘宝镇」名单由南京大学的空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院共同发布，发布于2021年10月，镇再度列名。[2]

「2022年淘宝镇」名单于2022年10月发布，镇位列其中。[2]
