1997年7月设立榕岭村委会，村名取自村委会所在的榕岭。村子俗称岭头，博雅地名网两处分别写作岭头、岭东。[1]
经济[edit]
村里以种植蕃薯、花生为主。近年村两委筹资修建环村道路，村民出行便利了，村子的经济也随之发展。[1]
