关湖边社区位于漳港街道中部，靠近漳古线与漳湖线，距街道驻地很近，东北与龙峰村接壤。[1]
社区名称取自村旁的湖洋，俗称「半湖边」。社区原是沿海的一处自然村，1993年，为配合长乐国际机场的建设，全村整体搬往镇区附近的新址，2006年撤村改居，居域面积约1平方千米。[1]
