海星社区位于营前街道北部，地处闽江下游、马江南岸，是以渔业为主的社区，居民多以捕捞及渔业配套行业为生[1]。

沿革[edit]

社区的前身为1956年成立的海星高级渔业合作社。1958年改为海星渔业生产大队，1968年设革命领导小组，1981年设大队管理委员会，1985年改称村民委员会，2006年转为社区居委会[2]。

渔业[edit]

社区建有渔业码头、冷冻厂和制冰厂等渔业配套设施，并有钢质渔船在台湾海峡从事双拖捕捞[1]。
