历史上此地隶属闽县光谷里，早先经济以种养为主。[2]

过去以农业和养殖业为主，后因城区扩展与里仁工业区的建设，耕地逐渐减少。[4]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]

村内的霞洲大王宫重修记碑为石刻类文物点。[5]
