地理环境[edit]
西南部及沿江地带地势平坦。全区最高峰大埔尾山位于本街道境内，海拔646.30米。[3][4]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年，此地设为城关公社；1982年9月起称航城人民公社，次年改名航城公社。航城乡政府于1984年9月成立，1992年1月由乡改制为镇。[2]
2003年10月，航城镇改设为航城街道。[1]
地名来历，据博雅地名网所载，相传春秋时吴王夫差与三国孙吴都曾在此造船，地名由此而来。[2]
荣誉[edit]
街道于2011年4月获环境保护部颁授「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」。[2]
2021年2月，街道上榜「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
