日溪村在城乡分类上被划为乡中心区，是日溪乡境内的主要居民点。[1]村名的来由，一说是溪水长流不断，太阳一出来就照在溪面上；旧称「密溪」，因与福州话中一个不吉利的词同音，后改称日溪。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，此处已有日溪乡日溪村，隶属闽侯县第八区。1949年12月划入闽侯县第八区（石牌区）的范围。[1]1984年改由日溪乡日溪村委会管理。之前，1961年12月改属福州郊区，设日溪公社与日溪大队；1971年3月北峰区成立后，公社与大队的建制不变。[1]

经济[edit]

2020年12月，日溪村入选「2019年度福建省‘一村一品’示范村」，主导产业为脐橙。[1]2023年2月，村庄被列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]

文化[edit]

村中两条古驿道保存完好。[2]「2022年福建省卫生村」这一称号于2022年12月由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会授予日溪村。[1]
