垄头村是宦溪镇下辖的行政村。村庄处在峨嵋山南面山脉的延伸段上，地势形如一条盘龙，村名由此取为“龙头”之意。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1961年9月设立桂湖人民公社。1970年9月成立桂湖大队，1987年1月改称垄头村民委员会。[1]
文化[edit]
桂湖二三革命纪念馆的馆址在本村一带，纪念1934年起在桂湖一带进行的革命斗争。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，福建省爱卫办将垄头村定为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
