赤星村属福州市晋安区新店镇，为行政村，城乡分类为城乡结合区。村名取于20世纪80年代初的农村开发建设时期，“赤”即红色之意。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1959年2月新店公社设立；1969年11月组建八一大队；1984年6月改为赤星村委会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
福州灵岩禅寺又称升山寺，相传创建于南朝陈天嘉年间（562年），寺中留有宋代石槽。据百度百科，寺址在赤星村的升山。1986年定为区级文物保护单位。[2][3]
