西垅村属福州市晋安区新店镇，为行政村，城乡分类为城乡结合区。村位于战坂八墩之中，因居于西侧得名。2024年1月，村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
唐代村地隶闽县宁基里，宋元至明中叶属怀安县，明末以后属侯官县，清末划为侯官县富村区，民国年间隶闽侯（林森）县，属其五区之一，即新店区。[1]
新中国成立初期，村曾称建华村。1958年人民公社成立后，村名为福州市郊区战坂乡西垅大队，后归晋安区新店镇。村委会于2013年设立。[1]
