东山村位于鼓山镇，村后有一座山形似雄狮的山峰，旧时称狮峰境。村名取自其地处福州城东、多山林的地理位置。村中的东山林龟峰神道碑为明代文物，东山井为宋代文物。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村后的山峰形似雄狮，名为狮子峰，因此旧时也称狮峰境。东山之名则来自此地位于福州城东、山林较多的地势。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1968年后，此地改属福州市赤卫区赤卫公社的东山大队；1975年后又改属福州市郊区鼓山区横屿人民公社的东山生产大队。[1]

1984年，此地设立村民委员会，隶属郊区鼓山乡。1992年乡改为镇，隶属关系不变，村委会的名称随之更动。1996年郊区改为晋安区，此后村名未再变更。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

东山林龟峰神道碑为明代文物，位于东山村41号村道旁。[2]

东山井为宋代文物，位于村北，紧邻机场二期高速公路。[2]
