历史沿革[edit]
民国后期，此地的象园村隶属闽侯县松鼓乡。新中国成立后，1950年起先归福州市郊的鼓山区，当时叫象园生产大队；1960年改隶台江公社，改称跃进大队；1979年恢复象园之名，仍在台江公社。1984年定名为象园村，归台江乡管辖。[1][2]
1996年10月，此村划入晋安区象园街道。2004年3月，村转为社区，原村的经济合作社继续保留。[1][2]
文化[edit]
2022年12月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
