象园街道位于福建省福州市晋安区南部，1996年福州市区划调整时设立。它的四界大致是：东侧以连江路为界，西侧临晋安河，南端濒光明港，北端连接晋连路。[1][2]

街道下辖7个社区和2个经合社，辖区总面积1.6平方千米，据2025年街道简介，总人口约3.6万人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

唐代此地归闽县乌石乡的高惠里所管。宋元明三朝，它仍在闽县高盖北乡的高惠里之内；清朝时划为闽县南一区，也就是南台区。[3][4]

民国时期此地属闽侯县水部镇。新中国成立后，北部被划入鼓楼区水部街道，南部则属郊区台江乡。自1987年起，北部转归王庄新村街道；1992年，台江乡的名称换成了台江镇。[4]

1996年福州市区划调整时，此街道划定：合并了原王庄新村街道晋连路以南的地段，另有鼓山镇双坂村、台江镇象园村，以及台江区新港街道的一些地段，同样归入晋安区。[2][3][4]

街道名称源自清初靖南王耿继茂、耿精忠父子在此豢养印度象。[4]

文化[edit]

据街道简介，象园是福州木雕的发源地。2008年，象园木（根）雕被收入「福建省非物质文化遗产名录」；2025年，「传统塔骨头桶雕刻技艺」被列为晋安区第六批代表性项目之一。[1]

2021年2月，街道在「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单中上榜。[4]
