马尾镇是福建省福州市马尾区下辖的镇，位于福州市区东南部、闽江下游北岸。东边与罗星街道相接，西与晋安区相邻，南面隔江与仓山区、长乐区相望，东北与亭江镇、琅岐镇接壤。[1]

镇名的来历，据《闽县乡土志》所载：闽江中有一块浮礁形似马，头朝罗星塔，尾对市镇，小镇因此得名。[3] 镇内有清末船政留下的旧址，也有沿闽江分布的村落。魁岐村、双协村等村于2003年才划入本镇。[4][5]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带古称东冶港。到清光绪末年，此地被叫作马江尾；民国二年（1913年）置马江镇，1951年才改称马尾镇，隶属闽侯县。[4]

1956年由乡改为镇，1958年起称马尾人民公社。1960年1月，本地自闽侯县划归福州市，同年3月重新设立马尾镇。1970年2月，马尾与亭江、渔业两个公社合并为马江公社；1978年2月，马江区取消，马尾镇复设。[4]

2003年3月1日，魁岐、建坂、龙门、双协、快洲五个村划入马尾镇管辖。[5][6][7][8][9]

地理环境[edit]

据马尾镇人民政府网站，镇域面积为53.65平方千米；百度百科作53.63平方千米，维基百科作53.62平方千米。[15][1][2]

镇域东面与罗星街道毗邻，西侧与晋安区相连，南面隔江与仓山区、长乐区遥遥相对，东北方向则挨着亭江镇与琅岐镇。福马铁路与104国道穿镇而过。[1][3]

人口[edit]

2020年常住人口为115427人。[2] 2018年户籍人口为38832人。[1]

文化与名胜古迹[edit]

船政社区一带是清末洋务派创办福建船政的旧地，左宗棠、沈葆桢曾在此创办船政局。社区内留有船政学堂遗址、旧海军联营与法式钟楼等船政建筑，据博雅地名网属国家级文物保护单位；福建船政建筑也是马尾区5处全国重点文物保护单位之一。[10][14]

马尾潮江楼位于旧客运码头边，地址为马尾旧街177号。[11] 楼始建于清末，原为两层砖木结构，早先开茶楼，后兼营旅社与菜馆。民国19年（1930年）毁于大火，重建后改为三层。2020年1月，潮江楼被公布为区级文物保护单位，属第九批。[11]

1926年秋，中共中央特派员王荷波住在潮江楼，在马尾造船所开展工作，并联络马尾海军，为迎接北伐军入闽做准备。这里也是国民党、共产党与海军三方“马江会议”的会址。1992年1月，福州市人民政府将此处公布为挂牌保护的革命历史纪念地。[11][12]

魁岐村内的福建协和大学建筑群，1921年至1932年陆续建成，设计者为美国建筑师亨利·墨菲，现存楼房11幢，兼具中西合璧的风格。2013年列入第八批省级文物保护单位名单。[13]
