地理环境[edit]
镇域东侧与城门、螺洲两镇为邻，西面与建新镇接界，北面与仓山镇、三叉街和东升街道毗连。沿江一带以洲地和滩涂为主。据百度百科，2017年镇域面积为36平方千米。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
唐代此地归闽县的高盖乡，宋代称高盖南乡。1950年以后，这里先后设盖山区、盖山公社、朝阳公社和盖山乡。1992年8月设为盖山镇，当时归福州市郊区人民政府管辖；1996年福州市区调整，改由仓山区统辖。[2]
人口民族[edit]
据百度百科，常住人口在2017年为144234人。镇内传统上划为高湖、盖山、义序、吴山四个片区。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
严复墓在阳岐村鳌头山，是严复为安葬亡妻王氏而于清宣统年间营建的墓园。2006年，国务院把它列为第六批全国重点文物保护单位，与「严复故居和墓」一并计入。[3][4][2]
阳岐尚书祖庙在上岐村的凤鸣山南麓，前身是凤鸣寺，修建于明天启七年。民国时严复出资修复，之后改祀南宋的陈文龙，名为「尚书祖庙」。详见上岐村。[2]
高湖南湖郑氏宗祠在高湖村，明正德年间动工，清道光十七年（1837年）重修。详见高湖村。[2]
天水赵氏宗祠在天水村，乾隆十三年（1748年）动工建造，1930年经过重建。详见天水村。[2]
姓氏宗族[edit]
严怀英被尊为阳岐严氏的开基始祖，他是唐末跟随王审知入闽的。严复属该族第二十七代。阳岐严氏宗祠1691年动工，1764年重新修建，1988年曾修缮，2006年起设为严复纪念馆。[5][6]
